Our mission at Instawork is to create economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals, globally. In order to achieve that mission, we have built a team composed of talented and hard-working individuals who are passionate about connecting skilled hourly professionals with local businesses who need their services.
Our Employee Spotlight series takes the opportunity to highlight members of our team and to give a glimpse into our culture and what it’s like to work at Instawork. To highlight the diversity of our team, we’ve asked Dan Kaplan, Stadium Teams Lead, to share more about his experience working at Instawork.
I currently lead our Stadiums team here at Instawork. We have a great team that spans the United States and we work 7 days a week to ensure we give the best service possible to our Partners.
I have served many roles at Instawork including owning the launch of 11 markets, managing a team of 15 operations specialists, and running multiple U.S. cities. I have been at the company for 3.5 years now. Instawork has grown exponentially since I joined in 2019 and it’s been fun to be a part of the growth story alongside such a special team.
I spent a few years at Citibank in New York City and knew by 2019 it was time to move to an early stage company where I could have a larger tangible impact. After taking a look at a few open roles, there was no better place than Instawork where I could help hourly workers find economic opportunity.
I can’t put into words how impactful Instawork has been to hundreds of thousands of Americans. Each team at Instawork is uniquely valuable in helping provide workers with opportunities that otherwise may not have been easily available to them.
I have had the good fortune to help so many hard-working people provide for their families. My favorite part of working at Instawork is spending time on the frontlines with both our Pros and Partners to get feedback. Our goal is to make their lives easier and there is no better way to do that than speaking with them face-to-face and providing solutions.
Working with such a driven, talented team has been one of the biggest joys of my career thus far. I take personal pride in recruiting colleagues to join our mission including two former Boston College classmates, Brandon Smith and Michael Halloran, who have been invaluable members of our go-to-market team.
My second computer monitor.
Spending time with so many people who rely on the flexibility of shift work to make ends meet has helped me build a great deal of empathy for others. Understanding their life situations, what motivates them, and their outlook on life has made me a better colleague and a better friend.
Demanding, yet most rewarding place to do your life’s work.
