Pre-shift vetting: The first line of defense

At Instawork, we believe that prevention is key. That's why every Professional on our platform undergoes a thorough screening process before they can accept a single shift. This process includes a background check that includes:

  • Social Security Number trace and criminal records review
  • Global watchlist screening for an added layer of security
  • Sex offender registry review to protect vulnerable populations in various work environments

Professionals are required to complete an interview with an Instawork Coach, a high-performing Professional with a history of excellence specifically on the Instawork platform. Depending on the position type and shift details, Professionals need to complete additional screening:

  • Upload relevant certifications (Forklift Certification, Food Handlers Card, etc.. ) 
  • Prove specific skills via video demonstrations
  • Pass skill-specific assessments

By setting high standards at the entry point, we significantly reduce the risk of safety issues down the line.

Real-time data signals

Our commitment to safety doesn't end once a Professional books a shift. We use real-time data to:

  • Track shift clock-ins and clock-outs
  • Location tracking so you know when Professionals are on their way to a a shift
  • Geofencing the jobsite for accurate time-tracking
  • Review Partner and Professional feedback and incorporate into our vetting process
  • Active collaboration with Partners to review T&S concerns and collaborate to prevent and address issues

This proactive approach means that you can focus on your business, while we’re doing the behind-the-scenes, data-driven work to help shifts run smoothly.

Comprehensive Insurance coverage: In case something doesn‘t go as planned

Instawork provides comprehensive Occupational Accident Coverage, Workers' Compensation, and/or Contingent Liability insurance to cover Pros’ on-shift injuries, including:

  • Liability insurance to cover property damage or injury to third parties caused by an Instawork Professional
  • Coverage for medical expenses, lost wages, and rehabilitation as a result of accidental injuries incurred during a shift.
  • Our Trust & Safety team handles insurance claims
